Petition Congress to extend ARRA COBRA benefits for 2010!

The goal of this petition is to gather as many signatures possible and to petition Congress to extend ARRA as it applies to COBRA insurance beyond 2009 for all of those unemployed.

If the U.S. government can afford to bail out banks and the car industry, they can certaintly afford to help those of us burdened by unemployement and the high cost of health care benefits under COBRA.

Please contact your Congressman and ask them to extend the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 as it pertains to COBRA insurance to 2010!

Please extend AARA as I can not afford the cobra and will have to do with out COBRA. Please for those of us on unemployment who can barely pay our bills, please extend this. We need the help. Most help for food stamps, reduced utilities is not offered to the American people. It seems we are the minorities. It hurts me deeply that I have taken a part time retail job for minimum wage and see all the programs in Illinois going to the immigrants sneaking their way pass the borders. These people can't speak english or read or write, but they are eligible for every program Illinois offers. It devastated me when I couldn't afford my gas bill and they told me the 1200.00 on unemployment was too much income.

Please get real here. Please help us.

omg, I am going through the same thing and my employer let me go beginning of December, stratigically so that my healthcare is until 12/31/09 and not eligible for this aara at all! no one will help me either, I'm so digusted!

Please extend the AARA act concerning Cobra. I have only been unempployed since the middle of October, and have not found a job yet!! The current premium just went up, because my old company changed plans as of 12/1/09!! It is already taking a nice sum of my monthly unemployment checks.
