Doctors should not work alone
I think we should consirder implementing solutions that work elsewhere - not necessarily the entire systems. For example this is what I liked in clinics I saw in the US (I know, I know, many Canadians see red...)
When you go to see a doctor you are first interviewed by a nurse. She takes your temperature, blood pressure or does urine test if your complaint indicates it's necessary. Then you see the doctor with all results fresh. All results, doctor's notes, prescriptions, patient's history are stored on a computer and can be shared with other doctors. Legendary doctor's bad handwriting is no longer an issue...
Oh, and I believe the resources are shared: one receptionist, a number of nurses and doctors.
